POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst is responsible for performing research and analysis to support business operations and presenting findings to manager or product leader. Determines best practices and suggests how to improve current reporting and analysis procedures. Develops recommendations to senior leaders. Interacts with market and/or product teams to gather measureable and anecdotal data to provide sound forecasting and trend information. Data elements for analysis and reporting include financial metrics such as cost, sales, labor efficiency, and market opportunity as well as industry and market trend data such as inflation, interest and exchange rates. Responsible for working directly with senior leaders on trend analysis and global reporting process improvement. Responsible for contributing input to P&L reporting by country and/or by product line. May be responsible for special projects upon request.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Data Analysis: General data analysis and reporting for business decision purposes. Provides complex forecast, regression trend, and modeling analysis to senior management for decisions regarding global product placement and resource allocation.
Reporting: Contributes to the monthly reporting package and identifies process improvements to reporting tools.
Industry Analysis: Works with market and product leaders to create trend and historical intelligence used to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
Financial Analysis and Reporting: Contribute to P&L development for markets/product lines. Provide information and insight on annual budget preparation. Assist in the preparation and accuracy of forecasting.
Operations: Reviews and analyzes monthly operating results against estimates and forecasts. Compares demand profiles to facility output and makes recommendations on S&OP.
Sales Reports: Analyzes sales reporting system against the general ledger (SAP), identifying and resolving discrepancies with finance team.
Project Reporting: Tracks and analyzes resource cost, timelines, actual spend and return on investment for any major projects, including global technology and/or optimization initiatives.
Other responsibilities as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Required:
Experience in public accounting, global manufacturing or in a multi-unit manufacturing environment. Should have the ability to identify and investigate trends and potential issues and work with upper management. Business analysis with a financial background is essential.
Education/Training Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance. MBA degree is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft applications as well as SAP, B1, Cognos Financial systems. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
