JOB DESCRIPTION
Contributing member of the RS HVAC Component Engineering Team responsible for the testing, development, and qualification of new, Asian-sourced electrical components for residential HVAC products, including fan motors, capacitors, contactors, sensors and other electrical components. Active interaction with the Component Engineering team, Product Design Engineering teams, Supplier Quality and Supplier Development teams (in Shanghai and Tyler) and Asian-sourced suppliers is required to successfully perform this role.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
？Investigate/ Develop/Qualify indoor and outdoor HVAC electrical components using approved validation test plans and DFMEAs while following the Independent Design Review (IDR) process. Present IDRs to the Chief Engineer and IDR Team.
？Interface with Asian-sourced suppliers to communicate technical specifications and requirements, develop application guidelines and ensure coordination and alignment of assigned components for on-time qualification prior to mass production.
？Strong influencing and communication skills with the able to work technical details with suppliers, engineering, supply chain and quality teams on a daily basis
？Lead small teams to develop DFMEAs and component specifications used to communicate design requirements to suppliers.
？Support VA/VE, NPD and quality/field projects as assigned. Projects may involve unit system, subsystem, or component design application and testing.
？Supervise the accurate creation/modification of engineering data and bills of material (BOM) via Windchill and CINCOM.
？Assist in maintaining and updating agency listings (UL, ETL, CSA, etc.) to support assigned components.
？Monitor field reliability metrics and manage reliability roadmaps for assigned components in support of continuous improvement.
？Availability to travel about 30% of the time

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
？Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required (advanced degree preferred)
？3+ years relevant work experience preferred
